Nova Rock Interactive Livestream 2020

As festival season 2020 came to an unexpectedly early close, live music lovers had to look for other ways to get their fair share of an annual festival experience. That’s why we decided to team up with Red Bull and Nova Rock Festival to deliver an interactive live streaming experience that would appeal to festival fans and rock music enthusiasts alike.

Instead of simply streaming several famous Austrian bands performing on stage, we decided to take it a step further and let viewers be part of the experience. By including a Call-In (video chat) Feature, we allowed fans to show us how they celebrate “You can’t cancel Rock’n’Roll” live on stream. Add a few fun challenges such as an air guitar contest to the mix and you got yourself an almost festival-like feeling in the comfort of your own home.

After Red Bull and Nova Rock Festival recorded the performance at Nickelsdorf, we took care of live production and combined the high-production value of a pre-recorded concert experience with interactive live streaming elements. Besides the Call-In feature, we also provided multiple streaming overlays that fit the corporate identity of Nova Rock Festival and also allowed viewers to have their comments displayed live on stream.
