Co-Working with ChatGPT
A glance into the biography of the most famous AI tool in January 2023
Yes, it’s been all over the news and yes, you can go ahead and watch all kinds of ChatGPT hacks and failures on TikTok. Also yes, we wanted to ask the AI tool to write a blog article for us. Unfortunately, ChatGPT is at capacity, so we had to write it ourselves. The least we could do is to write about ChatGPT. Read on for a summary from a LUX FUX perspective.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is built on a large language model,
called “GPT-3” (Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3).
It works based on a deep neural network that uses billions of parameters and
was fed with uncountable data points from all over the internet. Having
acquired that incredible amount of knowledge, learning more and more with each
question asked, the artificial intelligence tool can do plenty for us.
How does ChatGPT work?
One important thing to consider, when it comes to utilizing the AI tool in our daily life: it’s not reflecting human intelligence but mirroring its form. ChatGPT does not understand the knowledge it provides us with but calculates the likelihood of the shared information to be accurate, this makes it a super-efficient tool to work with. However, as soon as you question an answer ChatGPT offers, the AI would rather apologize for inaccuracies than justify its statement by citing truthful sources.
What can ChatGPT do for us?
From a digital marketing perspective, there are
plenty of tasks where ChatGPT could lend us a hand: we would, for example, asking
our new digital co-worker to write creative copies based on relevant input from
our side and review them. The AI could also inspire marketing strategies,
identify problems in programming code, or spell out replies for customer
support on social media. More use cases for us could be translations between
languages as well as summarizing data.
Basically, we consider the possible use as a little “Heinzelmännchen”, that can
help us out, if used mindfully.
And the future?
Open AI Inc as the parent organization has been working under a non-profit umbrella so far while its sub company and ChatGPT development base, Open AI LP, is more oriented on profit and might monetize its innovation soon. Restricting public access will increasingly become a topic, since word about of the magical things this tool can do was spread and it’s currently reached capacity. Opposed to that, the developers are for sure looking into ways of expanding ChatGPTs abilities.
All in all…
Humans have always enhanced their capabilities via developing tools and ChatGPT is a big step towards digital tools assisting us in our work. Despite having its limitations there is a wide range of applications within Digital Marketing. We are excited to see where things are heading to. 🔭 Let’s go!
